This is what the sky looked like when I arrived about 6 PM.

I noticed this brewing in the western sky at sunset. I thought it was moving north, but it eventually took over the entire sky.

This is what the sky looked like about 8:30 PM. It then rained till about 10:00 PM. Then it cleared from the NW to SE and by 11:20, the sky was awesome and I logged my first observation.

Time: 23:30 to 3:00 AM MDT Telescope: 17.5" f/4.5 Newtonian
Location: DSS at Deer Trail, CO Activity: H2500 Relooks

The smoke from large forest fires in Alberta, Canada had cleared enough to make observing tonight possible.

The Moon and Venus to the upper left corner after sunset. Can see the smoke in this area.

Ready to look at Solar Neighborhoon stars.

My friend, Mike Roos, joined me at the site for a night of observing.
