We bought this animated tree to replace the lights on the Blue Spruce. It is a great addition to our display.
Either the rabbits or squirrels were eating these wires. A few years ago, I wrapped them in plastic tape to mask the smell of tasty wires.
This year, they must be starving and have started to eat through the wires again, despite the varment replling spray on them. Barbara found a post that said chicken wire over the lights will protect the wires.

Here is a picture of two possible candidates who might have eaten the wires. This seems more of squirrel damage than rabbits.
On January 19, 2024, a young man drove his car down our street, somehow lost control of it on our corner and drove into our yard and drove over 6 of our lights.
From our camera mounted on the garage, he was starting to make a left turn to go on down the street. After about a second, he made a hard right and drove into our yard. He missed the back end of the neighbor's truck by 4 feet.
